Global Tooling Strategy and Engineering Lead/Manager
Join our journey in shaping the future of mobility together
Are you ready to take on a key technical leadership role within a leading global automotive company? Do you thrive in an international manufacturing environment where standardization, technical governance and strategic decision-making come together? Within Nedschroef, we are looking for a Global Tooling Strategy & Engineering Lead / Manager who will help shape and drive a more centralized, future-proof tooling organization across our global production network. In this role, you will work closely with Global Tooling Procurement, Centers of Competence, local tooling experts and other international stakeholders to improve tooling governance, technical standards and sourcing decisions across the organization.
Your role in our mission
As Global Tooling Strategy & Engineering Lead / Manager, you play a key role in strengthening the technical foundation of Nedschroef’s manufacturing organization. You support the transition from locally driven tooling decisions to a more centrally governed tooling approach, helping the organization make better, more consistent and future-oriented decisions on where and how tooling is developed, built and maintained.
In this role, you focus on analyzing tooling commodities across all Centers of Competence and translating technical complexity into clear, fact-based decisions. You work closely with Global Tooling Procurement to define the global tooling allocation strategy, based on factors such as technical feasibility, supplier capability, total cost of ownership, risk and long-term business strategy. By combining technical expertise with a structured and pragmatic approach, you help ensure that tooling decisions contribute directly to operational excellence, cost-effectiveness and continuity across the organization.
You take ownership of the central tooling drawing repository and ensure that tooling and product drawings are complete, accurate and ready for tendering and execution. You translate drawings into concrete requirements regarding machines, competencies, lead times and supplier capabilities, and you assess technical risks at supplier level to support sound and scalable decision-making.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you contribute to supplier selection, capability assessments and performance evaluations. You also help guide Centers of Competence in adopting the global tooling governance model and support alignment between new product introduction, tooling service activities and serial production tooling. In this position, you act as a visible and credible technical authority across the organization, bringing together engineering expertise, governance and collaboration to support a more standardized and high-performing tooling landscape within Nedschroef.
You recognize yourself in the following profile
You are a technically strong and structured professional who is able to bring clarity and direction to complex engineering and manufacturing environments. You are confident in working with stakeholders across functions, locations and levels of seniority, and you know how to combine technical depth with strong communication and decision-making skills. You are approachable and collaborative, but also decisive when needed, with a strong focus on progress, quality and results. You are comfortable operating in an international setting and understand the dynamics of manufacturing organizations.
In addition, you match the following criteria:
